Web site of the month: ERIC - Educational Research Information Centre

ERIC is a large US based educational database produce by the Institute of Education Sciences of the
US Department of Education. ERIC is a large free to access database of journal articles and other resources with records going back to 1966.

ERIC is not health related as such, but is a really useful resource if you are looking for information on mentoring, preceptorship, learning, or coaching for example, all things that take place in today's NHS.

As well as text searching, ERIC has a useful thesaurus that enables more accurate search results. It also has a number of different filters you can apply to your results to find the information you want. These include things like date range, source, descriptor, publication type and audience.

ERIC also provides links to full text articles were freely available as well as bibliographic records where it isn't.

If you are looking for anything with an educational or learning focus, ERIC might be a good place to start...
